Okay, I was originally planning to use something else to buy time. However, I noticed that most, if not all, of my emergency fillers involved my avatar. If I keep using emergency filler, it'll just keep failing. Curse my lack of foresight! So, yay this and not the end-of-arc filler or some lame thing on backgrounds?

TV tropes would be quick to point out my subversion of the "author avatar" trope. Yup, it happens.

On another note, I should say that, besides the end-of-the arc filler and the regularly used backgrounds, this is actually the oldest Whiplash comic that I intend to ever add. My oldest recorded use of the author avatar is on August 12, 2008, and this comic was made sometime before September 2008.

Yes, he does have some tie to Miles. He evolved from a sketch of one of Miles' relatives, who I later overhauled and kept this design for something else. I've been told the coat looks like a bathrobe, so it actually changes some in the future.
